Originally from Norway, my journey in the equestrian world began at an early age, and I have since dedicated myself to honing my skills and expertise in horse training and instruction. In 2015 I moved to Iceland and worked at Lundar Horse Breeding, there I also studied at Holar University, culminated in my bachelor degree as a Riding Instructor C/FEIF Level 3 in 2020. These experiences have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of equine behavior, training methodologies, and the importance of promoting horse welfare.
One of my most formative experiences was my time spent working for the Gulliksen family, Olympic show jumpers, where I gained invaluable insights and skills that continue to shape my approach to horsemanship today. Furthermore, my work at Þúfur Icelandic Horse Center alongside professionals like Mette Mannseth and Gísli Gíslason further broadened my horizons and refined my instructional techniques. Currently, I am engaged as a professional instructor at Hestaland while pursuing a Master's Degree in Equine Science at the Agriculture University of Iceland. This unique opportunity has allowed me to get a deeper look into evidence-based practices and further my understanding of equine welfare, which I am eager to apply in my role as a riding instructor.
My approach to training and instruction is grounded in a commitment improve the relationship between horse and rider, prioritizing their well-being and ensuring a positive and fulfilling experience for both. By integrating learning theory and accessible methodologies, I aim to empower riders to develop a deeper understanding of their equine partners, ultimately cultivating a community of happy and successful athletes.
